Dear Friends,
Please join Delegate Sam Rasoul for Lt. Governor of VA & Dr. Ivonne Wallace Fuentes for a special Mother’s Day conversation on May 6, 2021 at 7:30 PM ET to discuss the importance of revitalizing and restoring women in the workforce with the bold progressive policy proposed by Sam called the VA Marshall Plan for Moms. Women have been disproportionately impacted both emotionally and economically by the pandemic, especially women of color. In 2020, more than 2 million women left the labor force. Women are now at their lowest workforce-participation level since 1988.(1) Dr. Ivonne noted that when the pandemic hit and schools closed, it became clear that our country relies on women as the fail-safe safety net. COVID has brought to light the inequities that exist for women in this country. For true economic recovery to happen, we must take action now to revitalize and restore women in the workforce. Moms deserve more than flowers this Mother’s Day, women deserve true economic justice. Please submit your questions to
